I think it’s a combination of both
I pay special attention to the fun aspect of my lessons. We will play games and tell stories in Russian based on YOUR hobbies and interests. I actively employ contextual learning in my lessons, so that you can learn the Russian vocabulary fast and with minimum effort.
However, I also believe that learning a language means building a system of interconnected elements in your mind. The things you’ve learned while playing games should then be harmoniously fitted into the grammatical structure of the language. Grammar rules serve as shortcuts in our speech. If you know the rule, you don’t have to memorize a new sentence from scratch; you can create this sentence yourself based on the rule. For example, if you know how to say “I love you” in Russian and you know the second conjugation, you’ll be able to say “You love me”, “He loves her”, “They love us”, and so on.
